DAC with SquareTube® tube output, nine digital inputs and 32-bit conversion with 768 kHz upsampling.
The KORA DAC 140 combines digital processing with a SquareTube® analogue output stage. Nine digital connections accommodate multiple sources, while AKM upsampling and a ROHM converter handle digital-to-analogue conversion.
The DAC 140 keeps its digital clocks synchronised with the incoming source. AKM upsampling moves processing to 768 kHz before a ROHM converter performs the 32-bit conversion, allowing conversion-related filtering to take place above the audible band.
The analogue stage then uses four triodes per channel in KORA’s SquareTube circuit, followed by a purely analogue output filter. Nine digital inputs make this a separate conversion hub for several sources, with both RCA and balanced XLR analogue outputs for connection to the rest of the system.
