Questar MC is the moving-coil version of Heed’s compact phono preamplifier. It is intended for compatible low-output MC cartridges feeding a conventional line-level amplifier input.
The fixed configuration uses 64 dB gain, a 100 ohm load and 220 microvolt sensitivity. These parameters distinguish it from Questar MM and should be checked against the cartridge manufacturer’s recommended loading and output.
The phono stage uses an external power supply. The supplied tariff configuration includes the X-PSU40; a compatible Q-PSU supply is a separate upgrade rather than an included second power supply.
