The REL Classic 98 combines a real walnut-veneered cabinet with a sealed, downward-firing acoustic design. Its 250 mm paper-cone driver and 300-watt Class D amplifier bring a deliberately traditional visual and tonal character to a contemporary sub-bass system.

The cabinet is intended to sit comfortably alongside both vintage components and modern loudspeakers. High-level, low-level and dedicated LFE inputs make it suitable for stereo and home cinema connections. Compared with the larger Classic 99, the Classic 98 offers the same design direction in a more compact form, with bass extension specified to 27 Hz at -6 dB.
