Cambridge Audio CXC is a dedicated compact-disc transport, designed to read audio CDs and send their digital signal to an external DAC or DAC-equipped amplifier. It uses Cambridge’s S3 servo system to control disc operation and preserve accurate data retrieval.
Optical TOSLINK and coaxial S/PDIF outputs make it compatible with a wide range of digital inputs. Because conversion takes place elsewhere in the system, the CXC is particularly useful when you already own a DAC whose sound and connections you want to retain.
Gapless playback keeps continuous albums and live recordings flowing between tracks. The front display and supplied remote provide straightforward disc control, while the CX-series casework matches companion components. The current tariff includes Lunar Grey and Black finishes.
