NuPrime IDA-9 - Hybrid Integrated Amplifier with DAC

The NuPrime IDA-9 combines a hybrid Class A+D integrated amplifier with a high-resolution DAC in a compact aluminium chassis. Its Class A input stage uses NuPrime’s Ultra-Linear Class A Module and low-noise JFETs, while the Class D output stage switches at 600 kHz. NuPrime specifies 200 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 250 watts per channel into 4 ohms.

A dual-phase GaN power-factor-correction circuit with active noise cancellation feeds two symmetrical GaN power blocks. This supply architecture is a key development from the earlier IDA-8, providing positive and negative voltage rails for the amplifier’s differential circuitry.

USB, coaxial and optical digital connections work alongside a stereo RCA analogue input. The DAC accepts USB PCM up to 384 kHz and DSD256. Input-level matching and a 99-step volume control in 0.5 dB increments help integrate different sources. A variable stereo RCA output can feed a suitable subwoofer or downstream component. A remote control is included; wireless reception requires an optional external receiver.
